Vodka in different countries: traditions and peculiarities

I was recently on a business trip to Finland, and they told me that vodka is usually drunk with cranberry morsels. This was surprising to me, because I was used to the more traditional version with appetizers. What is it like in your countries? Are there any unusual traditions or peculiarities in the way vodka is drunk and what to combine it with?

It's true, in Finland vodka is often served with cranberry morsels or even various berry infusions. I'm from Poland myself, and we traditionally drink vodka with appetizers - usually herring or even cucumbers. I read that Russia and CIS countries also have their own peculiarities in this respect, for example, the appetizer should be salty. If you're interested, you can read about different traditions at https://www.lex.vodka/. It's a good place to learn more about vodka around the world.
